Els usuaris de Twitter no van tardar a mostrar-se en contra de la imatge, titllant-la de mal gust o de sexista. KFC Austràlia va acabar disculpant-se i retirant el missatge. Deia així: "Ho sentim molt pel tuit anterior. No volíem ofendre a ningú i l'hem tret quan ens hem adonat que hem comès un error de judici".
